Media Hub continues to grow

The first Media Hub back after the summer break was a huge hit last week, with a host of new members joining the lively networking group. The event, hosted by Parfitt Media and MumsaboutCookham.com and held at the Bel & the Dragon in Cookham, aims to bring media types together to share experiences, contacts and job opportunities.

'We had another colourful evening at the Media Hub on Tuesday with lots of animated conversation and fun. We were delighted to welcome some new members – film-makers, TV professionals, photographers and PR consultants,' says journalist, media trainer and consultant Sarah Parfitt.

At the September gathering, attendees were treated to complimentary canapés in the private dining room by Group Head Chef Ronnie Kimbugwe, of Michelin-starred restaurant Claridges fame. Ronnie says: 'We’ve been supporting Sarah Parfitt and Sarah Rodi of the Media Hub for the last few years, by providing a location for them to meet like-minded professionals for wonderful informal gatherings at The Bel & The Dragon aligned with drinks and canapes.'

One Media Hub member joked: ‘We come for the amazing canapés – the crusty bread and crispy Cornish whitebait – not just the fantastic networking opportunities!’

We were delighted to welcome new members such as film producer/director Charlotte Mikkelborg, film and TV editor Deborah Kavanagh, news reporter Katie Mercer and TV trainer Brian Naylor among others. The Media Hub is going from strength to strength - we now have more than 100 members, which is fantastic.

Sarah Parfitt adds: 'It is great to see our membership growing at each meeting. We are planning a party for our members over the festive season and will be lining up some more great speakers and workshops for the new year.'

Reporter, presenter, producer and programme maker turned Executive and Personal Coach Helen Foster says: 'This month's meeting was both informative and entertaining. A good mix of people provided great conversation and contacts.'

TV Training Academy Global Training Director Brian Naylor says: ‘It was great to be able to spend an evening talking to such an interesting variety of media professionals in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I have a number of opportunities to follow up on and I’m very much looking forward to the next event.’

The event was sponsored by Mohammad Sabahi from Mah Images, who took the fantastic photos. He says: 'It's so fantastic to meet many new talented faces in each of our Media Hub gathering. I'm really amazed by the friendly and professional atmosphere of the evening.'
