The Laser Clinic Cookham

Wendy Lynch is launching a new business in the village called The
Laser Clinic Cookham. It's based at the front of the Arcade on the High Street. Today (Saturday 9th May 2015) there will be free, no-obligation consultations and a glass of bubbly for Cookham mums, plus you can
take advantage of 25% off on all treatments booked. I spoke to Wendy about her new venture...

Hi, who are you?

I'm Wendy and I live with Daniel in Bourne End. I moved out from London three years ago so that we could be closer to his children, who are aged 10-20. They stay with us most weekends.

Tell me about your brand-new super-exciting business

The Laser Clinic Cookham provides professional laser treatments at affordable prices. There is something for everyone:

- Pain-free laser hair removal, which works on all skin types

- Tattoo removal

- Carbon skin rejuvenation. I'm so excited about this one, it's a revolutionary, new treatment that works wonders on the face, chest, hands and other areas.

- Thread vein removal

- Age spot/pigmentation removal

- Acne therapy

Laser is amazing as it can be used at different wavelengths to target specific issues. We currently have a 25% off introductory offer for all new clients.

Why Cookham?

Well, it's the prettiest village I think I've ever seen. Being a London girl I love the greenery – and the pubs! It has a great feel about it. Plus it's a 15-minute walk from my house. I used to have a 2.5-hour commute each way when I was still working in London, so Cookham made sense. I always had my eye on having a shop in the Arcade too. The other shopowners are lovely and have made me feel really welcome.

Have you always been interested in doing this?

I've had laser treatments since my 20s and swear by them. The thing I love most about doing it, though, is the science aspect – I'm a geek at heart. I also love trying to solve people's problems. It sounds strange but I get a lot of joy out of removing people's unwanted or embarrassing tattoos or making a red vein disappear!

What did you do before?

I was the Chief Executive of a children's charity in London so it was quite a career move! I loved my previous career, but I had worked in the charity sector for 12 years and it could be quite draining. I still plan to keep that aspect up though by advising charities for free in my spare time.

Anything else we don't, but should, know about you?

I have a mad, small rescue dog called Arty. Apologies if he chases after you on the moor and barks at you for no apparent reason.
