MEDIA HUB GETS FESTIVE WITH ULTIMATE ELTON
The Media Hub is celebrating the end of a fantastic year with a special Christmas party. The lively networking event, set up by Parfitt Media and me [MumsaboutCookham.com] to bring media types together, will be held at 8pm on Monday 8th December at The King’s Arms in Cookham.
At this month’s festive meeting, we have organised for Ultimate Elton to perform, and the attendees will also be treated to canapés by The King’s Arms, a Santa competition and games.
Rapidly established as the foremost Elton John tribute act in the UK, Ultimate Elton, who plays with a live band, presents an uncannily accurate reproduction of one of pop music’s most successful and best-loved artists. A lifelong Elton John fan, Paul Beacon’s career highlights include duetting with Kiki Dee, singing to a packed Wembley Stadium before the Saracens v Harlequins rugby match, and meeting Sir Elton in person. [Ultimate Elton and The Rocket Band is also performing at South Hill Park, Bracknell, on Thursday 18th December. Visit http://www.southhillpark.org.uk/events-courses/ultimate-elton-rocket-band/.]
Working as a freelance is great, but when Christmas rolls round and all your friends are going to office Christmas parties, it can feel like all work and no play. But not this year – we are offering all media professionals some festive fun! We would like to thank The King’s Arms for having us, and we are really pleased that Ultimate Elton will be there to get us all in the party mood.
Journalist, media trainer and consultant Sarah Parfitt says: ‘It has been an incredibly successful year for the Media Hub, which has gone from strength to strength. When we first launched the group 18 months ago, we really had no idea how many people it would attract, but we now have more than 80 members, which is fantastic.
‘We are delighted to have been able to welcome Home Secretary Theresa May and award-winning film-makers Angela Robson and Mike Goldwater as guest speakers to our meetings this year. Due to popular demand, we are lining up some more great speakers next year, who we hope will be informative and entertaining. There will then be a social catch-up.’
So watch this space for lots more surprises in 2015. We are delighted our members are finding the hub useful, by connecting and sharing skills, and we hope to help them further in the new year.’
To register for the Media Hub, you need to join the Facebook page atwww.facebook.com/groups/MediaHub/. You also need to register for the Christmas party via Eventbrite.
