COOKHAM FESTIVAL 2015: ASSISTANCE WANTED WITH MARKETING

The Cookham Festival Team is looking for someone to join the organising team to provide marketing support.

The Cookham Festival is a local festival: its key aims are i) to create opportunities for the local community to enjoy music, the arts and other cultural activities; ii) to celebrate local talent and to encourage people to engage in (broadly defined) artistic activities.

The Festival, in its current biennial form has now been running for almost 50 years. Next year it will run from the 8th to the 17th May. We will be endeavouring to involve the whole community in a mix of concerts (various scales from major 300-audience events to minor recitals for perhaps 30-40 people), performance (theatre, poetry, comedy), exhibitions (with a local angle), talks, art/craft workshops, children’s events and artist open studios. In 2009 a new feature was a rock concert, which now has a life of its own and is an annual event and attracts some 8,000 attendees. The festival is run entirely by volunteers.

The role will be to help the Festival and the individual event managers create marketing materials, mainly in word and powerpoint.
