TEACHER LAUNCHES PHONICS FUN CLASSES IN SEPTEMBER
Vicki Burkitt is excited about launching Phonics Fun in Buckinghamshire from September. She says: 'I have been a qualified teacher since 2001, and have enjoyed teaching Foundation Stage and Key Stage One in both Buckinghamshire and Warwickshire. I truly love teaching and helping children develop as learners. Phonics has become a real passion of mine over recent years. I strongly believe that providing children with these secure early learning blocks will help them to become successful readers.
'I have two young children and have decided to take a break from classroom teaching to spend more time with them, but couldn't quite resist the teaching bug, which led me into the discovery of Phonics Fun.
'Phonics Fun is exciting and engaging... as all learning experiences should be! It is an innovative and interactive class that brings to life the phonic sounds by playing games, singing songs, bouncing, getting messy, the list goes on... I'm really looking forward to introducing the loveable Phonics Fun characters to sessions and seeing children fall in love with them as quickly as I did. Come along and join us on a Tuesday morning in Marlow, or a Wednesday morning in Bourne End or Beaconsfield.
'Each session will introduce the children to a new sound and letter, and all of the games and activities will be focused on that one sound and letter so that it is constantly reinforced, making it easier for children to learn whilst having fun.'
From September the classes will run on Tuesdays from 11-11.45am at Marlow Youth Centre, and on Wednesdays from 9.30-10.15am at Bourne End Community Centre, and Wednesdays from 11-11.45am at The Curzon Centre Be
aconsfield.
