A GREAT YEAR FOR SIMA
Sima’s Action Kids are just one of the acts who will performing at Let’s
Rock the Moor in Cookham on Saturday and enthralling children with their high-
energy dance routines whilst an impressive line-up, including Kim Wilde, Nik
Kershaw, Big Country and T’pau hits the main stage.
Maidenhead-based mumpreneur, Sima Stannage, who heads Sima’s Action Kids
and has worked in the health and fitness industry for more than 20 years, says she is delighted to be invited back for a third year:
'The artists this year are incredible, and include so many of my 80s childhood heroes and heroines!' says Sima. 'Kids in America is one of my all-time-favourite songs, and I am also a big fan of ABCs. I love their slick look and catchy lyrics. I am just so happy to be part of what is undeniably one of the highlights of Berkshire’s social calendar.'
Sima will be joined in her dance-routines by her daughters, Natasha and Chloe, and other local and national supporters: 'What makes Let’s Rock the Moor such a special event is the fact that because it is so local, there will be lots of former and
current Sima’s Action Kids there supporting me.'
On another note, two of Maidenhead’s leading business figures are urging the people of Berkshire to come out and support Sima’s Action Kids, after the local children’s entertainment company was nominated for a prestigious national award for the second year in a row
Town Manager, Steph James, and Magnet Leisure Centre Manager, Chris Hall, are asking the people of Maidenhead to take a moment to vote for Sima in the “Best Children’s Entertainer” category of the What’s On 4 Junior 2014 Awards.
“Sima has provided entertainment at many town centre events over the years, and will be performing at the Maidenhead Festival again this year,” says Ms James. “Her lively, colourful, energetic attitude never fails to get everyone involved. She is an asset to the town centre and it has been a pleasure working with her."
Chris Hall said he was thrilled about the news and that Sima’s passion for helping children explore their creative sides through play, dance, music and song is always “a joy to watch”.
News of the nomination tops off what is proving to be a very successful spring for Sima’s Action Kids. The family-run entertainment company recently took part in the UK’s top dance event, the Move It Festival at Earl’s Court in London, and will be performing at Let’s Rock the Moor in Cookham on 17th May.
“I am delighted and humbled to be nominated again by my clients for doing a job I love and enjoy so much,” says mum-of-two and company founder, Sima Stannage, who has been working in the health and fitness industry for 20 years. “I think that what makes Sima’s Action Kids unique is the fact we are not part of a franchise and offer a personal touch.”
One of the other enthusiastic members of Sima’s Action Kids is Chloe, Ms Stannage’s seven-year-old daughter, who is a Furze Platt Junior School pupil and who has been attending Redroofs Theatre School part-time for nearly five years. Chloe has also been cast in a number of commercials this year, including an advert for the Benetton Unhate Foundation. Sima says her daughter is a “born entertainer” and is very excited about the nomination.
Sima is also supported by her niece, Sarah Chakaveh, who danced in the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games.
Please help your local entertainer by voting for her by 14th May. Your support is really appreciated. Visit http://www.whatson4littleones.co.uk/award-voting.asp
