THE FROG AND THE PRINCESS

I took my eldest daughter, Mya, three, to see The Frog & the Princess at Norden Farm during half term - and she loved it!

It was an entertaining re-telling of the traditional Frog Prince tale by the Brothers Grimm in which the Princess doesn't want to be friends with the Frog because of what he is. She promises him dinner and a comfy bed at her palace if he returns her ball, but she fails to keep her word as she thinks he's unworthy of being her friend. He follows her back to her beautiful home and her father forces her to do the right thing - and so begins their journey of friendship.

The co-production between Rene Baker and Norwich Puppet Theatre, and performed by Gilbert Taylor and Aya Nakamura, was brilliant. The clever manipulation of the puppets, the heart-warming comedy and the music blended perfectly to create a performance we shall never forget. And Mya's favourite part? She got to meet the puppets afterwards!

We love Norden Farm - it's a great venue, with a restaurant and bar, and no end of activities on offer. And I'm already looking into booking the next show... Louis the Bubbleman or Sleeping Beauty in the Woods perhaps - see our what's on section for more shows, or visit www.nordenfarm.org
