Cath Blackfeather has set up Moving Hands Meditation and Movement in Cookham. She lived in Wales for over 25 years before moving here to live with her elderly disabled mother as her carer. Cath says: 'I worked in community dance in all sorts of ways, with adults from the community, and disabled people. I would teach dance classes, or make pieces to perform, or do meditational movement that is just free movement - usually in silence - as a way of relaxing. I have set up this group in Cookham because I love to dance and move, and think we should all do it somehow. It's not about being a good dancer, or being creative, but just doing something that makes you connect and feel fitter and more relaxed.'

Cath explains this is not a programme of pre-set exercises. 'You will find your own ways to move in whatever way feels right, starting from simply breathing and relaxing. You don’t have to be artistic to be creative, it’s a way to express yourself in any way you like, without worrying about getting it right,' she says.

Weekly sessions run on Thursdays 2-4pm in Cookham Rise Community Centre and it costs £8.50 per session - 4 sessions minimum. For more information, call Cath Blackfeather on 07890 562823 or email cathblackfeather@gmail.com
